Today is a guest blog post written and documented by my girl Jaz of Oakland, CA. She’s the founder of Fashion & Lifestyle blog, ThisSideOfTheMoon. You may remember her from her artist feature with Bird Trouble or from the photo’s I recently took of my trip to Oakland to visit her & friends at the LilyPad. We’re going to be sharing stories and photos on each other’s blogs of our adventures. We’re both quite a ramblin’ spirit. Jaz spent part of years growing up touring with bands across the US. I’m excited that I’m going to have her here frequently because we both have this essence of natural adventure seekers. – Alexz
Living in Northern California is quite the dream!
If you are a social butterfly, like myself, the endless street fairs, markets, workshops etc. will keep you dancing through life. If you are a nature lover constantly seeking adventure, like myself, your needs are more that met! The Bay area is a hop skip and a jump away from the redwoods and I make sure to take advantage of that every chance I get.
This week I went up to Muir Woods with my friends Samantha and Ian. Maybe you’ve seen Ian’s art work? See here.
Or gotten a tattoo by Sam? See her work here
. If you haven’t yet, what are you waiting for?!
Anywho… we are working on making an Adventure Club. Every week we want to go somewhere amazing and camp, hike, lay, play! Whatever the adventure has in store.
First Adventure Club outing…. Redwoods baby!
There is nothing like experiencing the redwoods. The smells! The energy! The colors!
California has been in a terrible drought and we finally had a week a rain! This made Muir Woods look like something out of a fairly tale, or a movie… I guess…. well… I felt like I was in the Hobbit. In short… fog is way cool.
If you go to Muir woods I recommend the Dipsea Trail! It’s the best! You follow a stream the whole time and its kind of intense but so rewarding! Or find your fav route here.
AND if you haven’t been to the Redwoods start your pilgrimage now! Tell me how you love it.
